Requirements
You must be a Full Admin in BambooHR to create the API key. API keys can only access the employees and fields their creator can see.

Installation guide
Follow the steps below to connect BambooHR to Scribe.
Go to your BambooHR account and copy the instance subdomain from the URL bar
In your BambooHR account, click your profile picture, then click API Keys
Click Add New Key
Enter a name for your API key, then click Generate Key
Copy the generated API key and paste it into the BambooHR API key field in Scribe then click "Done"
Optionally, you can customize your integration with a report ID.
If you need additional Smartfields, including custom fields you've created in BambooHR, you'll need to generate a custom report within BambooHR and enter the report ID into your Scribe integration
The "work email" field must be included in the BambooHR report to ensure we can correctly match your BambooHR employees with your Scribe teammates.

It syncs employee data from BambooHR into Scribe smart fields, so every teammate's signature is auto-filled with up-to-date profile information such as name, job title and phone number.
No. Once BambooHR is connected, Scribe fills the smart fields automatically; nothing is asked of your teammates.
Scribe re-syncs connected data sources once a day, based on your time zone, and you can refresh manually at any time. Updated data flows into the affected signatures automatically; automated fields are edited at the source, not in Scribe.

Scribe only uses the employee data needed to fill signatures and is SOC 2 Type II certified.
Yes. Connect the Scribe MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another AI assistant and it can walk you through this guide, create and assign signatures, and check that the installation went through. Authorizing BambooHR itself (admin consent, OAuth or an API key) has to be done by you, in your browser: an AI agent cannot grant that access on your behalf. See scribe-mail.com/ai-agents.
